Day 1 : THE COFFEE REGION
The coffee region, an essential area of Colombia. Very attractive thanks to the historic and colonial cities, its fincas, coffee plantations, beautiful nature reserves, the beauty of its landscapes and its endemic animals. Some representative elements are the smell of coffee, the willys jeeps, the beautiful haciendas, the typical crafts and of course the kindness and cordiality of the locals… they will welcome you with open arms!

Day 2 : TREK THE TROPICAL ANDES
The adventure begins with breakfast (6:30 am) in a restaurant in Salento, the starting point (2390m), departure at 7:00 am, in the direction of the Cocora Valley, home of the national tree: the wax palm. These trees, which seem to defy the sky, rise to more than 70 meters of altitude, a spectacle considered a national monument. Along the San José River, you will then dive into a “Cloud Forest”. Picnic on the road at the Mirador refuge (3150mts) and then climb to 3450mts at the finca La Argentina. Enjoy an exceptional panorama and rest after a hard day but rich in emotions.

Day 3 : TREK THE TROPICAL ANDES
After breakfast, begin the ascent to the páramos and its strange Frailejones, endemic and ancestral plants that can reach hundreds of years and are the symbol of the Colombian mountains. The San José River will accompany your route and you will cross it several times during the trek, through wooden bridges; enjoying the dense vegetation and wildlife. It is possible to find hummingbirds and many other species in their natural habitat. After a peasant lunch in a traditional farm at 3,170m we will continue our ascent to Finca la Primavera.

Day 4 : TREK THE TROPICAL ANDES
Wake up early to have breakfast. Around 7:00 am, you will begin the journey towards the goal of this daring adventure: to reach the Nevado del Tolima. After ascents and descents, you will have the steepest ascent to finish at the heliport, our highest point of the route at 490m or up to the edge of the glacier at 500m (weather permitting). On the way down you will have lunch at the Laguna del Encanto, enjoying a spectacular landscape. Afterwards, you will return to the Primavera farm, and what better way to end the day than with a hot drink and a traditional dinner.

Day 5 : TREK THE TROPICAL ANDES
After a good mountain breakfast, you will leave La Primavera farm, going up to La Virgen hill and its lagoon at 380m, leaving behind the Páramo and starting the descent to the Cocora valley. There will be a stop at the Estrella de Agua farm at 3,150 meters, where you will have lunch. Then you will cross a forest of Alisos and Andean forest to finish in the Cocora Valley around 4:00 pm. Your transportation back to Salento will be waiting for you there.

Day 6: COFFEE REGION
Transfer to Pereira airport.
